Shady Trail - right out my front door!

Started a new wogging situation on Monday a.m. Instead of going to Strawberry, I am wogging right out my front door, down my shady lane, with some little hills, with my new dog who needs exercise.

She trots along at an easy "show dog" trot when I jog my one minute. She slows down to a nice steady walk when I walk my 1.5 minutes. Before we got her, she had been doing some conformation showing at dog shows, so she is wonderful on a leash at 14 mos. Its really fun to take her along!

After one mile, I take her back into the house, and make sure my teenage son is up for school. Usually he sounds awake. Then, I go on back to the shady lane, sans dog, and go two more miles.

This is a much better routine for now, saves on gasoline, helps my dog, and saves me some time. Used to, I was hanging around the house till 8 am, waiting to see my son off to school each schoolday morning. I found myself eager to get out of bed this morning, to get out there and enjoy the cooler morning time for wogging. I even upped my jog time up from 40 seconds to 1 minute, and my walk time down from 2 to 1 1/2 minutes, and accomplished those intervals easily Monday and Tuesday.

I was so wiped out this past Saturday a.m. after our trek. I've just got to get more used to this heat/humidity, and maybe a slight hill on a regular basis will help me have more endurance on Saturdays.
