No Monster strides for me.

I can do this, be a marathoner. I AM a marathoner. I really liked the course Saturday, a nice change of scenery. More like we were trekking through a small town america. Add a few skyscrapers and some pollution, and I was envisioning myself in Chicago. I imagine it would have been a bit different for the runners/woggers, the uneven ground, brick streets, sidewalks occasionally. But, it was my favorite path thus far. Even the hills were fun. And, occasionally my buds and I were not sure we were going the right way. But, that was fun too.

Can you tell I like to "have fun"?

My mother (age 75???) says the other day, "you are taking too short a stride. Take a longer stride, and you will get there faster". Mother, I am only 5'2". Our fearless leader says NOT to take a monster stride, if that is not "normal" for you. I just had to bite back my further remarks to her, not going to argue with Mother. Wasted effort. Mother is always looking out for her chicks. I just had to laugh.

After all, I AM A MARATHONER!!!

My grandfather was active until he died at 93. I hope to be following in his footsteps. Can I have one of your dogs? I love dogs! Can't have one right now. with 3 kids and a husband, I would go nuts with one. I'm waiting for the kids to get older so they can help take care of one.

good thing our mother is not reading the blogs. she'd die if she knew you talked about her!

and see what you've been missing by running off ahead of the pack? didn't it make you feel better being the fastest instead of the slowest? we like having you walk with us too :)))

and the people coming out of their houses to watch was pretty funny. i guess it never dawned on me anyone would even CARE what we were doing. we're FAMOUS!!!
