Without first reading some other blogs after our Raymond adventure, I am going to jump right in and say what a FUN time I had on Saturday. The course was adventurous, the re-enactors (reactors?) added alot of atmosphere (and what troopers to be up so early and in full dress, with tents and campfires!), and I would definitely do Raymond Cannon ball run next year.
As for Mark's response to misguided woman badmouthing us, well there are always some of those, as we know. No matter what you are doing, someone else will have an opinion on it, if you are keeping your ears open. How tacky!!
I came in at #122/121, don't remember which, and I am PROUD of it. I finished! Yes!
D'Ann My First Run, just kept me laughing through the woods, with her talk of her wool hat hair on top of her head; Kathy Catseye kept me going, by just being there, doing our 40 seconds together, fighting poison ivy, mudholes, and gumballs. It was a good time, and I told that to the race organizer/grand marshall guy at the end.
It was an inspiring morning, and I am so happy to be part of this group.
I got out on the path at Strawberry patch park this morning to find that my Ipod shuffle was NOT working. No green light, nothing. I think Saturday morning's sweat did it in. There was some wierd orange rusty "stuff" under the cap (not sweatproof) on the end where I plug it into my computer. Not a good sign. Well, I needed to buy an armband Ipod anyway.

I'm not sure, but I think that number they gave us was our time, not the order of finish.
I am kicking myself that I wimped out the last mile and didn't finish with you. Next time I'll go all the way!
I'm proud of you and what you did. Great job!
I did walk the extra mileage to meet my husband -- but didn't run anymore. My hips sure were sore the next day.
Looking forward to our next adventure...I'll be out of town this weekend but back the next. Thanks for letting me tag along -- you really kept me going!
Amy, we should have walked together this morning.... my ipod went blank on me also.... go figure... maybe we just needed some time to reflect.. I was in a huge funk this morning and only did 2 miles walking, yuk, I met your friend Wilson at the end of my walk and he said you were doing so good. See you tomorrow
