For the first time since February MM training began, I OVERSLEPT on Saturday a.m. I have been traning on my own the past few Saturdays, going right out my front door. However, I set my alarm for 4 am. Saturday, woke up turned off alarm, woke up again at 5:40 am.
So, I got up and out my door, and did the 13.1 miles on my own. Before I started out, I dosed myself with three advil, just to alleviate bottoms of my feet discomfort. It made a big difference in my time.
It took me a modest 4 hours to walk the 13.1 miles. That is a significant improvement over the 4 hours it took me to do 12 miles some weeks back. The only discomfort I felt was somewhat tired feet at mile 10.
Reading about so many MM members having various pains and pulls, I am just glad to be walking, almost pain free. My 47 year old body is just not ready for jogging. So, walk I will.
Next Friday evening, weather willing, I am planning to do my Saturday miles at Strawberry Patch Park in Madison, rather than the Sat. a.m. I did that two weeks ago, and it was a good thing.

We all missed you at the Half! Join us Saturday - the roads may not be great but the company is!
Good job, Amy! You've got incredible endurance!!!
if it's ok, i'll do friday night with you. altho i don't think i can do 8 miles, i might can do 5.
lunch today was fun. when you start cooking in that new kitchen of yours, you can bring us gourmet leftovers to lunch on!
AND - i need brennan to help me look for my stolen bikes. the police guy told me where they might be, and i need him and his 4-wheeler.
I am glad to know I am not the only WALK ONLYer! I am right there with you girl! I keep telling everyone .... I just want to finsh! I am surprising myself though! Once in a while I get the urge to try to wog, jog, or run... I know I donot need to put my poor feet and legs through that right now though!!! I still have 100 lbs to loose. As several mentioned..... if we eat like Saturday night.... NO wonder I haven't lost anything!!!
I know I am doing my body good though. My daughter just can't believe I won't run any! I am reassured periodically when injuries plague about. I do want to push myself and do the most that I can, but HEY... I AM A MARATHONER!.... and so are you!
