I am feeling smug, as MM Tracy Wofford would say: I did my almost 7.5 miles last night, at Strawberry Patch Park. Queen and Jim came by and cheered me on the last mile, with gaseous Elle, the very trimmed schnauzer. Thanks Q!
Lightening forced me in on my last half mile, so I actually did only 7.25 miles. It felt good walking at night, tho it was HOTTER by several degrees. Something about walking as the sun was going down, instead of coming up, was just a nice change from the rushing around of Saturday morning walks.
My kitchen work is about finished, got my granite bar top installed yesterday. It is VERY LARGE and perhaps I made it too large. Three people could stand up on it and do some serious dancing if they wanted to. Well, its here to stay and cost a bundle, so I will learn to love it.
The only thing left for me to personally do on this project is stain some cabinet doors, so I am supposed to be doing that today. Have not yet gotten started yet.
Always something to do around this house. Between the housework and the new full time job, I am pretty busy. I guess that is a good thing. With children leaving home, being busy keeps my mind off the emptying nest. Never thought emptying nest would be such a big deal for me, especially back when they were colicy infants and energetic toddlers. Time flies!
After my walk last night, my very lovable and forever "where's/what's for supper" husband joined me at home at 9:30 p.m for leftover speghetti supper, marinated green beans, french bread, and wine from a box. No children, just us. It was actually sort of a nice change from supper at 6.
Next Saturday, 15 miles, then I have my 30 year high school reunion in Yazoo City that Saturday night. Guess I will need a nap Sat afternoon. That will be a HUGE day and night. We are gathering 5 years of classes, as our classes were so small. An interesting evening, for sure. What to wear so I will look much younger and thinner than I presently am?

kitchen looks great, amy!!! i'll have to come see it!
sounds like a trip to chico's is in store!
After the marathon, you could have a post-marathon party and we could all get up on your bar and do some serious dancing!!! LOL. I bet you'll be the only one at your reunion that can say, "I ran 15 miles today, what did you do?". ;-)
Amy -- Glad the kitchen is coming along -- it looks great from what I can see! Hope you have ice now. I had my 40th high school reunion last weekend in Greenville and I can assure you I was the only one that could say "I got up and ran 8 miles today before coming to this brunch". It is a good feeling.
when are you coming back to run with us (me)? I've missed you.
you can live to be 90 if you want to, but i'm thinking it might not be so great. i'll be happy with 75. (that still gives me 25 more years to get in shape before i die!)
