Been laid low with the abcessed tooth, since last Friday nite. One side of my face swelled up like a pumpkin Saturday morning, visited MEA on Saturday and Sunday for shots(my dentist and oral surgeon don't work on the weekends), and finally had it taken out on Monday afternoon. Dental folks said it was the ugliest case of abcessed tooth reaction they had seen in years, if ever. I got my daughter to snap a photo of my swollen face, for posterity.
I missed my 30 yr high school reunion, did not walk 15 miles in the rain that Saturday a.m., have not walked all week, and will not walk tomorrow. MM Queen came to my rescue Sat afternoon and then again on Sunday, driving me to MEA, holding my hand, checking on me during the day, bringing me lunch, making sure I was doing all possible to get well fast. Thanks Q!
Been VERY weak all week, a weak week. Went back to work Thursday. It gave me time to think about how much I take my usual strength/busy schedule FOR GRANTED. I was so weak and listless Mon thru Thursday, I could not even wash a load of clothes. Walking around too much made me dizzy at times. Advil and ice were my constant companions.
Just to get out there again, perhaps Monday, and I will treasure that wonderful feeling of strength that I so take for granted. I MISS my miles.
This is the first set back for me, and the first Weekend Mileage I've missed since MM 2007 began. I feel blessed to have made it so far with no misses, or setbacks.
Perhaps I will get back on my Juice Plus that is piled up in my closet. Got to get my strength back!

Sorry you are sick. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
We miss you out in MM land!

Oh man! I hate to hear you've had such a rough time! That's bad! You could've easily called Dr. T on the weekend. He gets calls ALL THE TIME! He wouldn't have minded--especially if it was that bad. Yikes. That sounds scary. Glad you got it taken care of and you're getting back on track. You'll be back to your old self in no time!
Hope you feel better soon! You'll get back into your routine once you feel better. And the important thing is that you feel better!
I'm so sorry you have been so sick. It is scary when you can barely even take care of your basic daily needs much less do anything you are used to. But, you will land back on your feet and catch right back up once you are well from your bad tooth.
Thinking about you and hoping your back on the trail again soon. It really won't be that hard to get back on track, once you get started.
Take care of yourself!
glad you are on the mend amy. i was more than glad to help! (and i hope you never have to return the favor!)
take it slow for the first few training days. you'll catch up and be fine!!
I'm glad you are feeling better, Amy. Take it easy.
Amy, glad you are getting back to full force. You make me feel guilty because I have missed a week of training and can only point to laziness as the reason. It is amazing how a "bout of illness" can open our eyes and make us realize how blessed we are most of the time.
Oh, it sounds awful. I hope you get better soon!
Hope you get to feeling back "with it" real soon!
